Living with vertigo or dizziness will severely limit your daily activities, making it difficult to complete even basic tasks without being exhausted. Our physiotherapists at Zenith Physiotherapy and Wellness have some of the most effective vestibular therapy services in Airdrie to help you teach the system to regulate equilibrium and balance.
Have you ever been off-kilter or felt unsteady? If that’s the case, you might benefit from vestibular therapy. Make an appointment with our clinic today for more details!
Dizziness is a term used to describe everything from feeling faint or lightheaded to feeling weak or unsteady. Another common term you may have heard before is vertigo, or the sense that you or your surroundings are spinning around. Both of these issues affect your balance and ability to stay standing still and upright.
It might seem unbelievable, but 76 million Americans may experience a dizzy spell or vertigo symptoms at any point in their lives. Indeed, dizziness and lack of control was the second most common problem in doctor’s offices.
Vertigo and dizziness are two of the most common reasons adults seek medical help, right up there with back pain and headaches. A few reasons for balance issues are as follows:
Both of these disorders are extremely common and can have a negative impact on the general quality of life as well as making you feel unbalanced.
Symptoms can vary from acute to chronic, and in some circumstances, they can indicate significant health threats.
If you are always dizzy, you should get your condition checked because it could place you at risk for falls, which can result in serious injury.
Vestibular therapy, also known as vestibular rehabilitation, is a procedure that involves “adaptation and compensation.” Vestibular therapy may be the difference between you living with constant dizziness and vertigo for the rest of your life, and feeling your best.
Balance problems include a wide variety of issues, but they’re all connected by their impact on the vestibular system, also known as the inner ear.
A few common balance disorders that can be improved through vestibular therapy:
We offer vestibular therapy to patients with balance disorders in Airdrie and the surrounding areas at Zenith Physiotherapy and Wellness.
During treatment, the vestibular system is being “reprogrammed” to establish associations with the brain in order to adjust imbalances and restore equilibrium in both passive and aggressive treatments.
If you’re feeling dizzy and off-balance, don’t wait any longer to get help!
Expect a detailed assessment of your balance, dizziness triggers, gait, and eye movements. Your therapist may perform maneuvers like Epley (for BPPV) or coordinate gaze stabilization and balance exercises. They'll educate you and give home exercises to support recovery.
Some exercises may temporarily increase dizziness—this is often expected and part of the recovery process. Your Airdrie vestibular physiotherapist will begin gently and advance as tolerated, helping retrain your brain to adapt.
Improvement depends on the condition. Many patients with BPPV feel almost immediate relief after one or two Epley maneuvers. More complex vestibular disorders may take several weeks to months of regular guided exercises and reassessment.
Yes, vestibular therapy is safe when performed by a licensed physiotherapist trained in vestibular conditions. Your therapist will adapt techniques to your comfort, monitor responses, and adjust the plan accordingly to ensure safe progress.
Many extended health plans in Alberta include vestibular physiotherapy coverage. However, coverage varies by provider and plan limits—so check your benefits. Zenith Physiotherapy & Wellness in Airdrie provides receipts to simplify your claims.
Our experienced Airdrie physiotherapists combine hands-on treatments with advanced techniques to help you recover faster and move better—whether you’re healing from an injury, managing chronic pain, or improving athletic performance. We proudly serve patients from Airdrie, Calgary, and nearby communities.

He truly took the time to listen to everything I had to say and made me feel like he genuinely cared about helping me; not just treating the injury. You can tell he loves what he does, and it really shows in the way he works with his patients. He was so easy to talk to, encouraging every step of the way, and always made me feel comfortable and confident in my recovery. Thanks to his knowledge and care, I’m feeling back to normal again. If I ever need physiotherapy in the future, I won’t hesitate to come back. I highly recommend Zachary B. to anyone looking for a physiotherapist who is not only skilled but also compassionate and truly invested in helping you get better.Posted on Tara SteffensenJune 30, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The staff at this location are fantastic. Dr Cenoj was my physiotherapist for a back injury. In 6 sessions he not only relieved my pain, but also educated me on how my back actually works so that I can avoid any future injury. I would recommend this place to everyone. They are amazing.Posted on Sarah WhitmoreJune 24, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I really enjoyed my experience at Zenith. The clinic environment is very open, clean, and welcoming. Lydia was my practitioner and she has lovely bedside manner and was thorough with my treatment plan and addressing any questions I had throughout. I had come in for a suspected herniated disc in my lower back that was causing chronic pain as well as sharp pains upon small movements. I did laser therapy treatment and ifc machine treatment each visit and my pain was gone and graduated from the plan after 3 weeks. Overall clinic communication was thorough but not overwhelming which I appreciated. They quickly provided home care/stretches that were specific to my situation. I used to be hesitant about if physio was worth it or not but Zenith made me a believer that it works. They also direct bill to Canada Life. BIG THANK YOU TO LYDIA!Posted on tunde josephJune 23, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
