Coverages, Billing & Payment

Direct Billing

Physiotherapy, chiropractic, massage therapy, and orthotics services are usually covered by most extended health benefit plans. Check your plan for your coverage details such as maximum coverage amount for each service type per benefit year, what percentage of the service charge is covered and if a doctor’s referral is needed for reimbursement. For your convenience, we offer direct billing to most insurance companies. If direct billing does not apply to your coverage, you will be required to pay the full-service amount at the time of your visit and we will provide you with official receipts that you can submit to your coverage provider for reimbursement.

Direct Access

Did You Know You Can See a Physiotherapist and a Chiropractor Without a Physician Referral?

Not everyone knows you can go directly to your physiotherapist if you are dealing with pain or an injury. It doesn’t matter if you’re dealing with an old or new problem. In Canada, registered Physiotherapists and Chiropractors are primary care providers. You do not need to be referred by a Physician to come see us. You can schedule a visit with one of our therapists to get help sooner than later.

In the medical community, Direct Access is the ability to see a physiotherapist or a chiropractor when you want to without needing a referral from your physician or other medical specialist.

Physiotherapists and Chiropractors routinely assess and treat patients without a physician’s recommendation. You can call us directly here at Airdrie Alberta and we’ll schedule your appointment today! Direct Access eliminates wasting your time for the appointment to see a doctor, then the delays in getting a referral to physiotherapy or Chiropractic and waiting for an appointment to see the therapist.

FAQs

Do you take my insurance?

In most cases, insurance or health benefits will cover a good portion, if not all, of your treatment costs. We understand navigating insurance can be confusing, so Zenith Physiotherapy and Wellness will be happy to assist in contacting your insurance company and determining your coverage based on your policy.

For more information, visit our insurance plan page, and please do not hesitate to contact our Airdrie physiotherapy office. We do offer different payment options for your convenience.

How can I schedule an appointment?

Our scheduling is easy and we offer a convenient location and appointment times for you. We have morning and evening appointments available to meet the demands of your busy schedule. Call us today at 1-403-768-2747 or click here to request an appointment.

How long do PT sessions last?

Although all patients are different, typically, the first session lasts for 1 hour. Each session after that may be 30-45 minutes.

The amount of time will be based on your specific needs, and our therapist will discuss this with you. You will most likely see your therapist two or three times per week, to begin with, and as you progress through treatment, your sessions will be more spread out.

If I want to continue with PT sessions after my pain is gone, can I do so?

Yes, once you have completed your therapy sessions, your therapist will review your at-home continuing therapy program.

We can also make arrangements to meet you at your gym to work with you on determining what equipment may be beneficial, and what exercises would be helpful in your continued recovery.
