Direct Billing

Physiotherapy, chiropractic, massage therapy, and orthotics services are usually covered by most extended health benefit plans. Check your plan for your coverage details such as maximum coverage amount for each service type per benefit year, what percentage of the service charge is covered and if a doctor’s referral is needed for reimbursement. For your convenience, we offer direct billing to most insurance companies. If direct billing does not apply to your coverage, you will be required to pay the full-service amount at the time of your visit and we will provide you with official receipts that you can submit to your coverage provider for reimbursement.

Motor Vehicle Insurance

If you were injured in an insured motor vehicle accident within the last 10 days, your treatments are covered by your motor vehicle insurance policy. Treatments under this condition are referred to as ‘within protocol”. They are billed directly to your motor vehicle insurer with no out-of-pocket cost to you. This eligibility is for up to 90 days or for a total of 21 treatments following the date of the accident.

If you are seeking treatments after 90 days has elapsed since your accident or if you have received treatment within the protocol and require further treatments, or need treatment for more serious injuries. These claims will go through what is referred to as section B coverage. Prior approval from your motor vehicle insurance company is required in this instance. If applicable, you will be required to pay first from your extended health benefits with the rest of the payment covered by your motor vehicle insurance.

Remember to bring along the following information on your first visit to our clinic:

  • Policy Number/Claim Number
  • Adjuster ‘s Name and contact number
  • Date of Injury
  • Any other medical information relating to the injury

Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB)

Approved work-related injuries are usually billed directly to WCB. On your first visit, we will provide you with a full physiotherapy assessment and treatment and we will send a report to WCB.

WCB will normally approve up to 21 treatment visits over six weeks. This may be longer if you have had surgery following the work-related injury or you are following a specific surgical protocol. If your claim is denied by WCB, you do have the option to pay out of pocket or through your extended health benefit if applicable.
